Doubles Dominate at Virginia Tech Clash at Halloween

Hokies continue strong play

With a flawless 3-for-3 record in doubles matches, the Purdue men’s tennis team finished the three-day Virginia Tech Halloween Classic on Sunday.

On the last day, the Boilermakers defeated Elon players in three doubles matches and one singles match.

Nicholas Campbell and Daniel Martin were defeated 7-5 by Daniel Labrador and Michal Wozniak. Mujtaba Ali-Khan and Hassan Baroudi, a rookie team, defeated Luke Queiroz and Esteban Penagos 7-5. In a 6-4 victory over Oskar Antinhuimo and Krstic Veljko, Tomas Dudek and Julen Morgan combined.

Morgan defeated Penagos 6-4, 6-4 to become the lone Boilermaker to win a singles match on Sunday.

Next weekend, Purdue will finish its autumn season by competing in the Big Ten Fall Championship at Michigan.

Esteban Penagos (EU) was defeated by Julen Morgan (PUR) 6-4, 6-4.

Mujtaba Ali-Khan (PUR) was defeated by Krstic Veljko (EU) 6-2, 6-2.

Michal Wozniak (PUR) is defeated by Nicholas Campbell (EU) 6-4, 6-4.

Tomasz Dudek (PUR) was defeated by Oskar Antinheimo (EU) 6-1, 5-7, 6-1.
